ECLIPSE is proud to announce the launch of its Portuguese pilot, bringing innovative energy management solutions to central-northern Portugal. This pilot aims to actively involve local communities in smarter, more efficient energy usage through the ECLIPSE app.
The pilot will be implemented across three cities: Porto, Braga, and Guarda, focusing on engaging a minimum of 50 low-voltage (LV) active participants. Each participant will have access to various connectable resources and will use the ECLIPSE app to optimize their energy management while contributing to smart grid functionalities. The local Distribution System Operator, E-REDES, will oversee the pilot, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure and smart meters. Beyond this initial trial, the ECLIPSE app is set to become available throughout Portugal, offering broader public access to its energy management features.
Portuguese Pilot Presentation
To introduce the project and recruit participants, ECLIPSE partners organised the Portuguese Pilot Presentation in Guarda, Porto, and Braga, as well as online, on the following dates: 27 October, 30 October, 3 November, and 27 November 2025. The events were attended by 70 participants, including members of the general public and customers interested in innovative energy solutions.
Organised by E-REDES representatives Miguel Louro, Ana Monteiro, and Sita Carvalho, the events provided a comprehensive overview of the pilot, demonstrated the ECLIPSE app’s functionality, and highlighted the benefits for both participants and the electrical network.
